Minute Taker: Board of Directors Meetings

By DFD|February 13, 2018|Uncategorized|

The Opportunity:

Head & Hands is a bilingual non-profit organization working towards a society where young people are at the centre of decision-making for their lives. We offer critical health, social, and legal services to youth in Montreal with a commitment to non-judgment, harm reduction, holistic care, education, and confidentiality. We are looking for a minute taker to record monthly meetings of our Board of Directors. This is a volunteer commitment of 4-5 hours a month for the next 4 months (March-June).

Requirements:

  • Commitment to attending one 3-hour meeting per month, usually on the first Wednesday of the month from 6:30-9:30pm (snacks and bus fare will be provided)
  • Comfortable with typing quickly and transcribing conversations mostly in English
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Interest in social justice and our mission
We especially encourage young people to apply. This is a great opportunity for high school or CEGEP students to give back to their community and for people who might want to consider being board members in the future to get a sense of what it entails. A computer can be provided for you if needed. Our space at 3465 Benny Avenue is wheelchair accessible.

To apply:

  1. Anyone interested in applying should use any format that you’re most comfortable with (whether it’s visual, auditory, or something else altogether!) to address the following three points either in person to our office at 3465 Benny Avenue or by email to Yuan Stevens at jointheboard@headandhands.ca — as soon as possible but no later than Sunday, February 25th at midnight:
    1. Tell us a bit about yourself! How can we best contact you?
    2. What is your connection to Head & Hands?
