About the Childcare Educator position
here are 2 Childcare Educators who work at YPP as a team and offer respite to our parents during the program on Wednesdays and Fridays. Together they plan, organize and supervise program activities for all children which include coordinating the educational themes & activities according to the developmental needs of the current children attending.
In order to offer high ratios of children to adult, the childcare educators also work with a group of volunteers. Therefore they are responsible for training and supervising these volunteers.
Requirements & Assets
- Be eligible for Subvention Salariale with Emploi Quebec
- Bilingualism spoken, written a plus
- Available on Wednesdays and Fridays
- Background in Early Childhood Education or related field
- A commitment to harm reduction and anti-oppression principles
- Excellent time-management, personal organization, attention to detail
- Empowerment based work with marginalized families
- Strong familiarity with current needs of Montreal families
- Active listening
- Experience specifically with 0-3yrs.old
- Experience supervising and training volunteers
- Experience with the Batshaw system
