About Jeunesse 2000 (J2K)
Jeunesse 2000 is a satellite program of Head & Hands. J2K is a non-judgmental and welcoming drop-in centre that caters to Montreal youth between the ages of 12 and 17 years old. Offered in collaboration with the City of Montreal, this is a place where youth can be themselves: chill, play sports, cook, play video games, watch movies, take part in our music workshops, or sing and rap in our studio, all free of charge, all year long. It’s the spot to be!
About the Animator Position
The ideal candidate is open-minded, creative, reliable, punctual, dynamic, flexible, and enjoys working in a team. The ideal candidate also brings an understanding of urban youth arts, culture and music. Responsibilities include:
Maintain a safe space for youth participants
Animate activities with youth, such as basketball, workshops, cooking, discussions, outings
Participation in weekly staff meetings
Event planning and participation in J2K and Head & Hands events
Bilingualism (English and French), knowledge of other languages an asset
Commitment to Head & Hands mission and approach
Experience and comfort working with youth
Knowledge of computers and social media
Experience working in a community organization
Administration skills (exp. in grant writing)
Good communication skills
Able to work with a team
