About the SERVE Coordinator Position

Primary Duties

  • Act as a lead for the event: organize food, entertainment, venue, music, etc.
  • Recruit fundraising participants in bars and restaurants, create recruitment materials, including contracts, press kits, posters, etc.
  • Increase volunteer participation and event revenues
  • Recruit, supervise and liaise with volunteers and participants (including personal appearances at participating venues and attending off-site 3rd party fundraising events)
  • Coordinate promotions and sponsorship agreements
  • Supervise the Assistant Service Coordinato
  • Ensure smooth transition of project to next Serve Coordinator
  • Receive the following trainings, if not already trained: first aid, de-escalation, harm reduction

Secondary Duties

  • Support with additional Fundraising efforts and events
  • Support with planning Head & Hands’ 50th Anniversary Events

Requirements & Assets


  • Be eligible for Subvention Salariale with Emploi Quebec
  • Fluently bilingual (English and French), both oral and written
  • Experience in event planning and/or bar and restaurant industry 
  • Knowledge of Google Drive
  • A commitment to harm reduction and anti-oppression principles
  • Active listening skills 
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills 
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Commitment to Head & Hands mission and approach
  • Experience working in a collaborative team setting


  • Experience in fundraising 
  • Knowledge of database management softwares
  • Familiarity with Montreal and NDG communities
  • Experience working in a community organization and/or non profit
