About the Junior Bookkeeper Position

The Junior Bookkeeper position is a new administrative support staff position at Head & Hands, contributing and collaborating with our growing finance team. The junior bookkeeper will work with the Senior Bookkeeper and Director of Finances to track and manage incoming and outgoing finances in the organization. Among other tasks, this position will be responsible for inputting financial information into SAGE, preparing simple financial statements (monthly summaries), processing donations, managing tax receipts, administering staff reimbursements, and paying invoices. This position will have the support of the finance team as well as the staff collective. 

Requirements & Assets

Requirements:

  • Training in bookkeeping or related field (accounting)
  • Knowledge of standard bookkeeping practices
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail 
  • Bilingual French & English
  • A commitment to harm reduction and anti-oppression
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Experience working in a collaborative team setting

Assets:

  • Experience and familiarity with SAGE accounting software or equivalent
  • Experience in working in non-profit sector
  • Connections to or background with NDG and is communities
  • Experience working in a collective structure
  • Experience working in a community organization
