The Head & Hands Youth Clinic delivers healthcare and education to youth 12-25 years old. After the intake process, clients can be with the doctor for up to 45 minutes.

Medical Clinic

General health problems within the scope of a primary care setting
Gynecological health: Pap tests, IUD removal, menstrual issues, trauma-informed pelvic exams
Trans health: Emergency HRT renewals (newcomers, people who’ve lost access to their regular MD/source), trans-competent and affirming pelvic exams, pap tests, referrals
Behavioural health: short-term follow up or referrals
Referrals to specialists
Referrals to Medecins-du-Monde and other migrant-friendly clinics and resources
Referrals to specialists, information, counseling and support.

Sexual Health Clinic

Full range of testing for Sexually Transmitted and Blood Borne Infections (STBBIs) (symptomatic and asymptomatic)
Testing and treatment for simple UTIs*
Testing and treatment for vaginitis (BV, yeast infections, trichomoniasis)
Visual inspections for herpes/HPV
Contraception prescription (except Nexplanon), Depo Provera injection, pregnancy tests
Safer sex and consumption gear
Education, counselling, and referrals
*Person with a vagina having had symptoms for less than 7 days.

Head & Hands’ Youth Clinic does not believe in a one-size-fits-all response to participants’ needs. Instead, we aim to provide an alternative to healthcare approaches seen at the institutional level. The Youth Clinic approaches healthcare from a harm reductive, non-judgmental, and holistic perspective. The program is targeted for youth facing complex social determinants of health and those who face barriers to accessing institutional healthcare. This can include a lack of health insurance and financial resources; undocumented or in flux immigration status; Black youth, Indigenous youth, youth of colour; queer, trans, and/or two-spirit youth; youth engaged in sex work; youth engaged in drug use; youth who have experienced sexual violence.
