Head & Hands is born
Established in Montreal's NDG (Notre-Dame-de-Grâce) neighborhood to provide free, confidential medical, legal, and social services specifically tailored for youth without requiring parental consent or judgment.
Launch Of the Sense Project
In 2005, we received an initial start-up grant to develop a peer-based sex education program (The Sense Project) because we think it is important for youth to know about sex, so that they can make empowering decisions when it comes to their sexual health.
The Name
In 1995, a French name was created and voted upon by a group of youth: À deux mains/Head & Hands Inc.
The REC
Formerly known as J2K the REC took a cue from the youth who frequent our drop-in center, REC, we initiated a music showcase called Street Vibes which is organized by and features these youth.
Opening of the Food Pantry
Expanded basic-needs support by launching a youth-focused emergency food assistance program, addressing rising food insecurity among vulnerable young people in the community.
Move to the NDG Community Hub
Relocated from Sherbrooke Street West to 3465 Avenue Benny (the former Benny Library site), securing a larger, fully accessible community facility.
